Home Safety Principles

No lock is foolproof. Even the best locks can be picked or bypassed. But a decent lock can make it enough of a hassle for a thief that they’ll move on to an easier target. Think of it like putting up a “no trespassing” sign: it might not stop everyone, but it will deter many people from entering your property.

Security systems can add another layer of protection. The sign out front might make a thief think twice, and the alarm could scare them away. But not all security systems are the same. Make sure your system is monitored so someone will be notified if the alarm goes off. And check if your system will still work if the power goes out – you don’t want to be left vulnerable during an outage. How accessible is your breakerbox???
