Active Shooter
Active shooter situations are unfortunately becoming more common in public places like schools and workplaces. It’s important to be prepared in case you find yourself in one of these situations.
The first thing you should do is identify the closest exits. Make sure you know where they are, even if they’re not the most convenient options. In an active shooter situation, the quickest exit might not be the safest one.
If you can’t get to an exit, find a place to hide. Look for a place that is out of the shooter’s view and that has some cover, like a thick wall or a piece of furniture. If you can, barricade the door with whatever you have available.
As a last resort, you may need to fight back. This should only be done if you are in immediate danger and have no other options. Use whatever you can find to defend yourself, such as a chair or a book.
The most important thing is to take action. Don’t just freeze up and hope for the best.
